Michelle D’Couto is lead product manager at ProQuest. In her current role, she is the primary liaison with leading institutions in developing the next generation library services platform. She has extensive experience in understanding technology gaps and opportunities, migration issues, and enterprise interoperability challenges facing libraries today. Her global expertise in bringing customer and product requirements into production environments positively influences the delivery of this innovative solution.

Michelle brings to the library industry more than 15 years of experience managing cross functional teams at leading software and hardware technology companies, and delivering products worldwide. She is a frequent speaker at conferences with previous panel presentations at Electronic Resources & Libraries, Computers in Libraries, and serves as a regular host of ACRL Choice webinars. Michelle holds a US patent and was published in several technical journals and has an upcoming article to be published in the Journal of Library Administration. As a Professional Development Instructor, she coordinates an annual woman’s retreat and has created and taught courses at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Las Positas Community College and at local venues in California. Michelle earned a bachelor of science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
