DT02: Helping Students "Get It": Redesigning 360 Link to Improve Access to Full Text

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Over the last decade, much investment has been made in improving discovery of content while little attention was paid to improving the ability for end-users to link to and access full-text of desired materials. Bonnie Imler will share details of ongoing usability research on the struggles students encounter with link resolver menus. Inspired by Imler’s early research, learn how 360 Link has evolved and dramatically improved the user experience over the last year and, now offers linking reliability for end-users. Eddie Neuwirth will also cover other topics like: Mechanics of linking: OpenUrl vs. Index Enhanced Direct Linking and User Interface design, enhancements and best practices.
